Teays Valley Child Development Center will be embarking on a new adventure this summer by implementing this year's Summer Elementary Day Camp at Camp Appalachia in Scott Depot, located at 167 Fletcher Road, Scott Depot, WV 25560. Camp Director, Jared Davis, comes to us from Camp Hi-Tor with high expectations of what will be achieved and experienced this summer.
The function of the summer program is the same from years past only at a different location. Child drop off and pick up will be at this new location. All activities will take place at Camp Appalachia which will eliminate the bus transportation for field trips. Supervised activities available include swimming, fishing, hiking, structured games and activities, outdoor education, imaginative play, paddle boats, and canoeing. The camp schedule will open and close with group ceremonies to support character building and teamwork. Students will be permitted in designated activity zones at scheduled times throughout the day and when staff supervision is within sight and sound. All camp staff are qualified staff hired through TVCDC. Parents will sign children in and out each day with a staff memeber to help keep track of attendace for billing purposes.
